CHIDDINGSTONE CASTLE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER – HEN & MARK

I’ve been fortunate to have shot at Chiddingstone Castle a couple of times and absolutely love it here. So if you’re looking for a Chiddingstone Castle Wedding photographer, get in touch!

I was so happy to hear from Hen and Mark to shoot their wedding day here. Chatting to them beforehand, I knew it was going to be a lot of fun. And we also got to hang out at their pre-wedding shoot, so it really did feel like being with friends come the wedding day.

Getting Ready

Hen got ready on the day at the stunning Edells Cottage. They hired it out for the whole weekend so all the family could stay together and make a proper event out of it.

And they needed that space, not only are they a large family, but they chose to have a huge wedding party! So the day was fun and lively from the get go.

With Hen having three sisters, I almost felt like I was living in a modern day version of Pride and Prejudice! All of them, including her parents, were amazing and lovable characters and it just warmed my heart to be around them.

And if they were The Bennets, of course Mark was a very fitting Mr Darcy.

I love groom prep as much as bridal prep, especially when a pub is involved! So I was glad to have my amazing second on the day, Rich Howman, with me on the day to capture it all.

Everything is so perfectly placed for a wedding in Chiddingstone. The Castle Inn Pub is a very short walk from the Castle itself, and right across from that, St Mary the Virgin Church, where they held their ceremony.

The Reception

We were fortunate to have the sun shining throughout the day and enjoyed drinks out by The Orangery before heading to the Marquee for speeches and dinner.

The highlight of the whole day, or should I say year, came when Hen’s sister, Tilly, sang to a room full of guests in the evening. One by one, each friend, family member (and photographer) joined in. Hen’s sister knew how special “Your Song” by Elton John was to Hen and Mark. I think she thought she’d have to be brave, and in a room filled with guests, be the only voice singing this epic song. If that was the case, she needn’t have worried. You couldn’t contain them even if you tried, everyone in that room was compelled to join in and it made for the most moving thing I’ve ever seen. I cried like a baby behind my camera. Such a beautiful moment. See more from that below.

I hope you enjoy the images from this wedding as much as I do. I’d love to chat to you about your plans for your wedding day. If you’re looking for a Chiddingstone Castle Wedding Photographer, get in touch here.
