How I Shoot

I know what drives a lot of us. We want to make our parents proud. Wow, you should see your parents faces when they look at you on your wedding day. It gets me choked up every time! It’s a good thing that I care about capturing that sort of thing. It’s not only that relationship, it’s the connection you have with all your guests. When they’re so bursting with love and support for you. That’s what it’s all about for me. And that’s what I feel like I’m there to do, capture that good stuff.

I’m unobtrusive. I don’t boss you or your guests about. Even though weddings tend to follow a schedule, you can never predict what will happen and each is different. That’s why I what I do is unscripted. I follow my intuition and the light and ultimately, your images are as unique as you are.

Sure, I love portraits. I do. And I know the idea of them can fill many of you with dread. But you and your partner are unlikely to have this opportunity again. To get these pictures on this special day, feeling all the love and happiness that you do, looking as great as you are. But do not fear! These are done in a really relaxed and fun way.

I take great pride in knowing that my couples come away having enjoyed this bit way more than they thought they would. And I won’t take much of your time. I know what’s important is that you spend as much time with your guests as possible. So, I’ll only take you off for 20 minutes between drinks. And yeah, if you get a crazy good sunset, maybe we can run out for a some then. That’s down to you.

And whilst I advise we keep them to a minimum, I can efficiently organise some group photos. After all, it’s a document of which or your nearest and dearest were there on the day. And I know your folks are going to love those ones.

Come party time, I’m right in amongst it. Camera in one hand, gin in the other. It’s time to get crazy. I love to have fun with you all at the end of the night.

So really, I’m just like another guest with a fancy camera. You’ll hardly notice I’m there, but at the times you do notice me, it’ll be because we are having fun together, creating beautiful memories.

A Little Bit About Myself

Having just turned 40, I feel fortunate to say that life has been colourful so far!

Photography has always been part of my life, I studied it at college. And my camera was always with me on a night out, much to the annoyance of friends!

But it wasn’t until 8 years ago that I believed I could make a great living out of it.

Prior to that, I had done all sorts!

I was a Parts Manager for Aston Martin. I literally got that job because I LOVE them and I was determined to work with them. A highlight of my time there was meeting Sean Connery whilst he stood coincidentally in front of a silver DB5! I could barely speak to the man I was so star struck!

I’ve worked with Virgin Media where I had some of the best times of my

life. I was fortunate enough to go VIP to V-Fest and hang with all the celebs there. I will never forget moshing with Gale Porter to The Prodigy.

I madly joined the Army in my late 20’s as an Avionics Technician. That even blows my mind. How was I fixing helicopters when I can barely change a plug now due to my baby brain? (Hmmm…my son is 8 now :/ Still not recovered!)

Yes, and I’m a mum to Oliver. My funny, crazy little dude. I’m training him up to join the family business one of these days.

All of this led to experiences that make me who I am today. And I firmly believe make me a better wedding photographer. Having met people from all walks of life, it has granted me a high level of emotional intelligence and my empathy skills mean I’m very in tune to the moments occurring on a wedding day.
