Barnsley house is an ideal Cotswolds wedding venue. Not only are the grounds and the staff amazing, but they have a spa to help with that post wedding hangover!
Lizzie and Stuart picked this venue specifically as you can hire the whole place for the entire weekend, and this was important to them as Stuart’s family would be travelling from the United States and they wanted to spend as much quality time with them as possible and make their trip wholly worth it.
Personally, I loved shooting at this venue. I’m an outdoorsy girl at heart, so any excuse to get out of London, I take with joy. And the grounds here are simply stunning. Espcecially in April and May as the Whisteria and Magnolia are in full bloom.
I have to applaud the staff here. They are there for every need and with a big smile on their face. It makes a huge difference to your wedding day when you have excellent staff at the venue. Nothing was too much trouble for them. And the food! It was so good. Their main of lamb cutlets and dauphinoise potatoes was lip smacking.
It was touch and go whether it would rain on the day, but fortunately it stayed dry for them so they could fully make use of the grounds. And that they did with a beautiful outdoor ceremony. It was a little chilly but they were prepared with plenty of blankets, and really that only added to the charm of the day.
The best part of the day had to be having Georgie there, Lizzie & Stuart’s Pomski puppy! The most ridiculously gorgeous ball of fur you have ever seen! Got to love a dog at a wedding.
